Q&A with Dr. Mitchell: Blog 5

Q.  I don’t wear glasses and my vision is fine, why do I need to see an eye doctor?

  1. A comprehensive eye exam is much more in depth than many people realize. Your optometrist can see blood vessels and arteries inside your eyes that can tell them a great amount about your general health and other parts of the body. Additionally, there are several eye diseases that are considered “silent” until it is too late, such as glaucoma. Many people who see fairly may also have a small refractive error that they are unaware of which could be causing fatigue and/or headaches. So, don’t skip out on your yearly eye exam just because everything seems fine. You never know what could be going on in there without professional care!
