Q&A with Dr. Mitchell: Blog 3

Q.  Can working on a computer all day be detrimental to my vision?

A.  Eye strain and headaches caused by computer use is called Computer Vision Syndrome or CVS. It is extremely common to experience fatigue, headaches, and dryness if you spend hours on a computer each day. We highly recommend asking your optometrist about prescription computer glasses to help reduce strain, and take short breaks consistently throughout the day to give your eye a break. Digital eye strain is a growing problem due to the amount of technology we rely on in our everyday lives. It is particularly important to monitor your children and limit their time on computers and other devices.
